Medicine in the Gen Z Era: From Power to Purpose

A thought-provoking webinar titled “Medicine in the Gen Z Era: From Power to Purpose” was held on September 24, 2025, via Zoom, featuring Dr. Ahamed Shafi E P, Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrician, MBBS, DNB (Paediatrics), FIAP (DPB), PDFDP (CMC Vellore).

Addressing a vibrant audience of medical students and young professionals, Dr. Shafi discussed the evolving landscape of medicine shaped by technology, changing patient expectations, and the influence of Generation Z. He emphasized the growing role of artificial intelligence in healthcare and explained what every upcoming doctor must understand about integrating AI tools responsibly in diagnosis and treatment.

The session also reflected on the ethical dimensions of modern medical practice, encouraging young doctors to shift focus from power and prestige to purpose and service. Drawing from his clinical experience, Dr. Shafi highlighted strategies for effectively engaging Gen Z patients, fostering trust and empathy in a rapidly digitizing world.
